Identify and Promote Free and Low-Cost Trainings

Finding high-quality coach education content can be challenging, especially with limited resources to evaluate it. Start with trusted programs. The Million Coaches Challenge (MCC) cohort includes organizations that have worked with coaching and youth development experts to identify and create strong, values-aligned training. Many of these trainings are available for free or low cost and can be a great first step for organizations looking to improve how they prepare coaches.

What this looks like when we get it right: By evaluating and adopting low-cost and no-cost resources, program leaders can kick-start or strengthen their coach training efforts.

Why This Issue

With so many coach training programs of varying quality out there, it can be hard for organizations to know where to begin. The first step can simply be finding accessible, affordable options that lay the foundation for a strong coach development approach.

The MCC cohort includes organizations that partnered with experts in sport, coaching, and youth development to create training resources to support coaches across the youth sport ecosystem.
